Description
at least 5 taxi drivers have related that police have impounded their cars for absolutely no offence. Taxi drivers will be stopped randomly, have their cars impounded, and then have to pay approximately 100 KD of their earnings to get the car back.
This is thought to be because of Kuwait's recent efforts to reduce traffic by stepping up expatriate deportations ... which have seen multiple abuses and illegal tactics used.
Taxi drivers are also asked to abide by their meters which for many years have not been raised in line with inflation. For some shorter distances, the fare for a taxi and a bus would be very similar under the meter.
