Description
Last Friday (17/10/2014), in Mishref Youth playgrounds, I came across a football league held by an Indian organization based in Kuwait, founded by an Indian Named Abdullah, and its purpose is to organize a local football league for Indians living in Kuwait who are from Kerala state in India. They have international level referees. The league lasts for 9 consecutive months. When I asked the founder why is it important to organize this league, He said that Kerala state was one of the few Indian states that has football popularity, so this league would allow Indians living in Kuwait from Kerala(apparently half of the local Indian population is from Kerala) the chance to enjoy this sport, more specifically to those Indians working for long hours during the week, they would have the chance to come play in the weekend primarily on Friday ( when most household workers have their weekends). I was so moved by the spectacle - they where very organized and the represented a culture different from Kuwait, that might even impact the local culture with values of professionalism, volunteer work and organization.
